Types of flavouring for Gin

Water soluble flavourings are typically used for flavouring spirits such as gin. Flavourings that use ethanol as a carrier are recommended, flavourings with Propylene Glycol as the carrier can also be used but are limited by maximum dosage rates.

How much flavouring to use

Flavourings are typically added to gin at the end of the distilling process or to bottled gin.

The amount you use will differ between flavours. As a guide, start with 0.5ml to 1ml of flavour per litre of gin and adjust to taste. Some flavours may have a maximum limit which will be indicated on the label (this will usually apply to flavours containing Propylene Glycol). Please note our flavours are not syrups, so do not impart any significant amount of sweetness.

Extracts for flavouring Gin

Botanical extracts such as coffee, cinnamon, ginger, lavender, rose and others help you create interesting flavour combinations for gin.

Organic certified extracts are also available.
